Well after the most successful season ever to be recorded by XSL we have now finally come to the end of the most thrilling action ever. The season took some very strange twist and turns with 14 teams signing up originally during the end of the sign-up deadline. Red Phoenix didn't turn up in the end leaving the league with just 13 teams.
FCD started off a little bit weak during the season with United and Revolt starting off as strong as ever. The first twist to the season was FCD loosing to United and ISK which people started to write them off. But what a turn around, ISK was banned from season 7 after breaking the rules on every occasion during every match of this season which resulted in all the teams who played them won with an 8-0 forfeit. With this it gave FCD a life line and an even bigger lifeline when Revolt beat United. Then a hugh twist in the story, 2nd to last game of season saw FCD beat Revolt and brought FCD straight back into the title race with United, Revolt and FCD all finishing on the same points. A knock-out stage was due to take place between the 3 biggest contenders of the league with nobody really knowing who was going to win this as each team have beaten each other a lot in the past whether it be cup, league or just clan friendlies.
It started off with Revolt vs United which by all account was the most exciting match during the play-off finals which finished in dramatic fashion 5-6 to United. Next up was United vs FCD and United just seem to fall asleep after the Revolt match and ended up in a 1-7 win for FCD. Now it was upto Revolt to get the win and put a bigger twist to the end of the season but unfortunately it wasn't so as FCD vs Revolt taken place FCD deservedly won 5-2. So a massive congratulations to FCD for winning the League for the 1st time in there history and also winning the XSL cup.
Was a definitely deserved and I'm sure not many could argue with the final out come. The other big twist to this season was how well DOR battled through and very nearly made it to the final play off after loosing out to Revolt on the final game of the season.
Well done to all XSL staff and the community for making this by far the most successful season yet to hit XSL. |

XSL | Kochonio: First of all i would congratulate you and your team to probably your best XSL season till now. Have you ever expected in the beginning of the season that you could do that well in XSL? DOR | Ryo Narushima: Thank you. We knew from the beginning that this season will be even harder than the last one but we did our best in every game and the results were amazing. Our big advantage compared to last season was, that we had a bigger squad with equal good players. XSL | Kochonio: Your team even dominated United in the semifinal of the cup and had their first chance of winning a title in the final against FC Dordrecht. How was it for you to play such a great match with so much attendance? DOR | Ryo Narushima: Reaching the cup final was already a great success for us, so we tried not to put ourself under pressure. Yet it was utterly unavoidable not to be tense in that game. it was a very exciting experience, for all dor members. XSL | Kochonio: But you did not just do well in the cup this season, you even reached the 4th place in the league and you have nearly beaten FCD & Revolt. So is the title your aim for next season? DOR | Ryo Narushima: We don't play for winning, we mainly want to have fun in the matches and deliver a good show for the audience. Our goal will be to defend our 4th rank, but of course we wouldn't be unhappy with anything above. XSL | Kochonio: After such a successful season some of your members might have offers by other clans. Do you think you can keep all of them for the next season or have you even recruited new players yet? DOR | Ryo Narushima: The Possibility of all active players staying together is high, since we are a strong community where nobody got a problem with anyone. Our big teamspirit was also the reason for that amazing season we had. We will only make some minor changes in our squad. Some inactive members will be sorted out and we're gonna pick up some new talented guys like ex-dg2 members T?rry and Rumpi to fill the spots again. XSL | Kochonio: Last but not least i would like to thank you for your time and id like to have a tip of you who will win the XSL League season 7. DOR | Ryo Narushima: Thats a really hard decision, since all three of them have great players. This will probably be the most exciting and unpredictable season finals this league will ever witness. We'll see what happens. Good luck to all of them, you all deserve the win! |
